Gillercombe Buttress is one of the longest climbs in the Lake District and also one of the most easily accessible mountain crags.

 

It catches the sun (and wind) for most of the day and has some fantastic pitches that weave around the whole crag.

The walk in for this is around one hour and is easily achievable for those who have not climbed before, or those seeking to tick off the classic rock routes.
