The Lake District's must-do walk and one of the most popular walks in Britain.
Ascend the 3rd highest peak in England in true mountain style. Scramble along Striding Edge whilst looking down at Red Tarn till you reach the summit and enjoy views over the northern Lakes. Descend via the easier Swirral edge and return back to Glenridding in beautiful mountain settings.
Tackle the mighty Striding Edge one of the best circular walks in Britain. The lofty ridge will give you a real sense of exposure as you move over the rocks to the summit of Helvellyn.
If that's not for you we can ascend the mountain via one of the many other fantastic routes all offering brilliant views.
This walk normally takes four and a half hours and is accessible for beginners with a good head for heights, however our guides can assist you and the more technical sections are avoidable.

For summer and winter hill walking you will need to be kitted up well for a day on the mountain, Please see the kit list at the bottom of the page. Maps and Compass will be provided if needed.

It might not be sunny all the time but we have enough local knowledge to seek out the best venues and will advise when booking the most ideal alternatives for on the day. If the weather and conditions are truly unworkable then we can reschedule for a better time at no extra cost.
